SAT/ACT

You’ll start with a diagnostic ACT and SAT to see where you’re starting and which test is a better fit for you. If you already have an official SAT/PSAT or ACT/Pre-ACT we can use those.

The SAT and ACT cover a very wide range of material, some of which you will already be very comfortable with. So, rather than following a set curriculum, in each session we will focus on reviewing practice tests and homework assignments you’ve done on your own. This allows us to focus on the most relevant and important topics that you don’t already know.

Last, we will always focus on taking the next incremental step, rather than trying to exhaustively cover every question you missed. Unless you are aiming for a perfect score, there will always be some questions where the best thing you can do is save your time and move on. We will help you identify those.

Academic

Subjects Covered:

  • Academic math from Pre-Algebra to AP Calculus BC

  • AP or College Introductory Level Microeconomics and Macroeconomics

  • AP or College Introductory Level Statistics

  • More to come! We’re always learning.

Even with an AP curriculum, every class is unique, so students will lead these sessions by telling us what you’re learning in class and what is giving you trouble. We can also try to be flexible with our schedule to allow for extra meetings as exams approach.

If you would like to work on a subject you do not see above for a class you just started, reach out. We are happy to learn along with you if we have the time. However, if you are already in the middle of the school year/semester, then these are the only subjects we are comfortable with.

GRE/GMAT

You’ll begin with a diagnostic GRE or GMAT, taken online, to see your starting point. Sessions will mostly focus on reviewing digital practice tests (either officially released or third party), which help you get used to the computer-adaptive format of either test.

Math Review is a major focus on both tests, as they cover a lot of math material that many students haven’t studied since high school. Not only that, but the hardest questions require really deep understanding of that material. This is not an insurmountable obstacle, though. We will help you bridge the gaps between the material you remember and the material you don’t.

The GRE also has some extremely difficult vocab questions. While you probably wouldn’t want to pay me to watch you study flashcards, I will help you utilize the best resources to improve your vocabulary.

If you are interested in a test or academic subject you do not see above, feel free to reach out anyway. We may be able to learn the material with you or recommend another tutor.
